Maintaining school identity and approach

At the Soke Education Trust we are keen to build our partnership. We recognise that each school has its strengths and has much to celebrate and share. It is important to us that each of our schools retain their own identity, individuality and creativity but work in partnership to deliver a consistent approach.

Strength through collaboration and partnership

School Improvement

Our school improvement strategy is based on:

  • Providing high quality professional development for all staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Developing distributed leadership structures
  • Setting ambitious targets for all children
  • Developing Quality First Teaching
  • Ensuring provision is equitable
  • Having high expectations for behaviour and attitudes and simple, clear systems to support this

Working with us means you will have access to a dedicated school improvement advisor who will support your leadership capacity, your improvement objectives and the development of our shared curriculum intent.

Our headteacher network meets once a month to offer leadership training, wellbeing support and to share information. We also offer termly networks for our English and Maths leaders and have plans to extend these networks to other curriculum areas and our SET Up sessions are designed to provide CPD, so staff can be knowledgeable and confident in their role.

If you are interested in reading more about our school improvement strategy, please review the attachment at the bottom of the page.

Assessment

Our schools have a common approach to assessment. We are all members of PiXL and use Insight Tracking, a simple but customisable and effective system for inputting and analysing school performance data. Our assessment strategy ensures that data is collected purposefully and provides ongoing training for teachers, so they can accurately and confidently assess learning, quickly identify gaps and provide learning opportunities to overcome them. We run termly moderation sessions to support and develop our staff and ensure we are accurate in our assessments.

Safeguarding

We embed a culture of safeguarding and wellbeing throughout our Trust. Across our schools, we use MyConcern to systematically track, record and communicate information with other agencies.  We use SENTRY to manage our SCR for every school and the central team.  On joining us, we will migrate your records to the same platform, giving you access to a dashboard and up to date, compliant data.  Our Safeguarding Link Trustee meets with Local Governors responsible for safeguarding to provide regular support in this important role.

Financial and Operational Management

At the Soke Education Trust, each school receives its own funding and gives an agreed Partnership Contribution to support the provision of the agreed central services.  The Trust provide specialist support with budget management, procurement and income generation, allowing schools to focus on teaching and learning.

Our central services support Finance, Health & Safety, GDPR, Compliance, Human Resources, Governance Support and Estate Management. Governance Professional and clerking services are provided to all schools.  We provide on-boarding to include school signs, website upgrade & system alignment.
